Born in Scotland I grew up with a love of art and animals.

Influenced by my father the late David Sutherland OBE – the legendary Beano artist for over 60 years. I graduated in Fine Art, specialising in Sculpture from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee Scotland.

My career in art has taken me to many places around the world; including working at Madame Tussauds London, Glasgow Sculpture Studios, then Australia for 14 years where I have many public art pieces permanently located in Queensland and NewSouthWales.

From 2008 until 2024, I lived in Nelson, New Zealand, a wonderful artistic city by the sea where I continued my career in art, including public art sculpture, teaching at schools and hand building classes with adults from my studio.

I have recently returned to Scotland and currently living and working in my hometown in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. A new venture but closer to exciting Europe and beautiful Italy, a wonderful source of artistic inspiration.
